Celebrate National Sundae Day on November 11

Did you know? The longest ice cream sundae was created in 2018 at a festival in Texas. It was one mile long and made with 500 gallons of ice cream, 2,000 cans of whipped cream and 20,000 cherries! I can’t even begin to imagine the number of calories or grams of sugar in that monster sundae.  Skip the traditional sundae this National Sundae Day and instead, celebrate with a healthy twist on the classic banana split sundae!

Grow Fit Banana Split
Serves 1-2

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 2 chunks pineapple, diced
  • 2 strawberries, diced
  • 8 oz Greek Vanilla yogurt
  • 1 Tbs dark chocolate chips.

Directions

  1. Split the banana in half lengthwise and lay on a small plate or shallow bowl.  If making for two, then put one slice of banana in each bowl.
  2. Top banana with vanilla yogurt
  3. Add strawberries and pineapple on top of yogurt.
  4. Melt chocolate chips in microwave for 30 seconds (stir and microwave in 10 second intervals until fully melted).
  5. Drizzle chocolate over banana and yogurt.
